A BINNAWAY man charged with 16 firearms offences has been sentenced to 18 months in jail.
Daniel Anastasis, 27, fronted Tamworth Local Court to hear his fate following a police raid on his property in March.
Magistrate Roger Prowse sentenced the 27-year-old to 18 months with a non-parole period of nine months for possessing more than three unregistered firearms without a licence.
He was also sentenced to eight months in prison for one count of not keeping a firearm safely, six months for possessing an unauthorised firearm, and will serve two months for having goods in custody.
The other offences were taken into account in the sentencing.
Anastasis was arrested at a Binnaway home in March after police raided the Coolah Rd property.
During the raid police seized four firearms, ranging in calibre from .22 to .762, as well as 443 grams of cannabis and 31g of amphetamine.
The sentences are to be served concurrently and Anastasis will be eligible for parole in June, 2014.
