MILITARY aircraft flew alongside aerobatics planes at the Tamworth Area Radio Model Aircraft Club annual scale rally held last weekend.
More than 50 aircraft were involved, entertaining more than 1000 spectators over the two days.
Club president Larry Hoskins said the event was blessed with perfect flying weather.
“It was the best scale weekend we’ve ever held,” Mr Hoskins said.
“We had people from Melbourne, Sydney, Gunnedah, Lithgow, the Mid North Coast and the Central Coast. They came from far and wide.”
Among the impressive machines were five jet aircraft, a twin-engine Cessna 410 and an Extra 300, both owned by Sydney man Clive Hodder.
“The twin-engine Cessna has a wingspan of over 4m and the Extra 300’s a purpose-built aerobatic aircraft,” Mr Hoskins said.
“Clive had stunning aerobatics which really wowed the crowd.”
The next club event will be a glider weekend in October.
