A CUPCAKE bake-off has yielded some amazing visual creations and raised much-needed funds for injured and homeless animals along the way.
Keen bakers and staff from the National Australia Bank, Forsyths Accounting and Everingham Solomons Solicitors gathered for a morning tea yesterday as part of the RSPCA’s annual cupcake day, where the animal cupcake masterpieces were independently judged and sold off.
The morning tea and sale of plates of cupcakes raised $380 for the charity.
Forsyths’ bakers took out all four categories, with the best dog cupcake going to Hannah Walters, best cat cupcake awarded to Lara Gill, best other animal cupcake going to Nicole Mitchell for her hedgehogs, and the most creative cupcake going to Helena Williamson for her Noah’s Ark assortment of animals.
Rebecca Greenland of Everingham Solomons said supporting the RSPCA was an easy choice.
“We’ve just got a lot of animal lovers and it’s a fun day that everyone can put something in and an easy way to raise money for a great cause,” she said.
