THE Kamilaroi Highway was closed on Tuesday afternoon following a truck and a car accident near Narrabri.

Emergency services were called to the highway, 30km south of Narrabri shortly after 1.30pm following reports the two vehicles collided.
The male driver of a ute, in his 20s, was taken to Tamworth Hospital suffering lower abdominal pain.
A NSW Ambulance spokeswoman said spinal injury precautions were taken with the man but he was in a stable condition.
The truck driver, also a man, was taken to Narrabri Hospital in a stable condition for treatment to abrasions and bruising.
NSW Roads and Maritime Services said the impact of the crash resulted in a fire, reportedly in the truck.
The highway was shut for several hours in the afternoon however light vehicles were still able to pass the scene using a side track.
Heavy vehicles were able to use the Newell Highway from Narrabri to Coonabarabran, then the Oxley Highway to Gunnedah and then back onto the Kamilaroi Highway.
