You can’t eat  coal, you can’t drink gas

AFTER our local Aboriginal elders finally called the cards on Whitehaven Coal’s planned devastation of Leard Forest this week, the coal company said in media they want to “meet the protesters".

There has already been a state supervised Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Plan in place and this week’s protest shows that the past communication and meetings have not been acceptable. Indigenous artefacts, collection and storage of same are in question.

The head of the Red Chief Land Council said “The whole community has been let down.” How true.

You can’t eat coal and you can’t drink gas.
