The Tigers made a confident start, shooting out to a 16-4 lead after just 16 minutes, through a double to Kerrod Sullivan and try to Clinton Blenman.
The Colts got it back to 16-10 but just before half-time James Standing scored a freakish try to kick the Tigers out again.
Standing chased a cross-field kick and accepted a perfect bounce to score under the posts and make the score 22-10 at the break.
The Tigers were first on the scoreboard in the second half when Daniel Hoogerwerf dummied his way through the Colts’ defence to score in the 53rd minute.
Fifteen minutes later Blenman crossed for his second to put the game beyond the Colts’ reach at 34-14.
Interchange player Nick Dwan completed the try-scoring for Aberdeen with a touchdown in the 74th minute.
Sullivan was again in good form with the boot and kicked six goals from his seven attempts to go with his two tries.
Best for the Tigers were second-rowers Standing and Blenman, prop Mark Macaulay, fullback Shane Hasselmann and five eighth Luke Hasselmann.
On Saturday, the Tigers are at home taking on a Muswellbrook side that knocked off competition leaders Denman last round.
The weekend will also see the 1992 first grade premiership-winning team holding a reunion, beginning at McKinnon Field and later at the Aberdeen Bowling Club, after the games.
The team of 1992 that defeated Muswellbrook by 22-12 at McKinnon Field was Mick Klus, James Haggarty, Rod Margetts, Graeme Huddleston, Wayne Clark, Troy Logan (c/c), Mark Feeney, Scott McGrath, David Douglass, Paul Smith, Jason Phelps, Brad Milton, Craig Gardiner, Craig Deegan, Brad Watts, Paul Huddleston, Eddie Huggins, Anthony Welsh and Anthony Rieck.
