I REFER to the comments by Mark Hamlin and can only agree with his remarks.
I too have had to go to Sydney to purchase a set of new tyres on two occasions for my vehicle.
Prices quoted in Tamworth were $558 each at the national branded tyre retailers.
Looking on the internet, I found a family owned business in the St George district that had the tyres I wanted at $270 each.
Even going through a tank and a half of fuel to get these, I was still hundreds of dollars better off.
I will do the rounds locally again next time, as my preference is to buy local, however, I will still see if savings can be made elsewhere, even if it means a nice drive to Sydney.
