THE woman accused of breaking into the home of an elderly South Tamworth couple will remain in jail pending a court appearance in August.
Danielle Waters, 32, fronted Tamworth Local Court yesterday where she was refused bail and her matter was adjourned to August 15.
Waters was arrested by officers in South Tamworth after a break-in at an Oak Street house last Tuesday morning.
She was charged with offences including aggravated break-and-entry over the incident, in which she is accused of stealing jewellery from the house.
The house is owned by a couple in their mid-70s.
A 77-year-old man allegedly chased Waters from the scene.
Police were called and the couple gave them a description of the intruder.
Waters was arrested in the area a short time later.
