POLICE are waiting on forensic analysis results from a house where two guns were stolen near Tamworth this week.
A 12 gauge shotgun and a .22 calibre rifle were stolen from a gun safe on Manilla Rd at Moore Creek.
Police believe the theft happened some time between 7pm Sunday and 8am on Monday morning.
Crime scene police were called to the scene to check for fingerprints and DNA evidence.
Oxley Local Area Command duty officer Inspector Jeff Budd said firearm security was paramount.
"This should be a timely reminder for people to provide extra security for their firearms,"he said.
"These are the wrong things to get into the wrong hands."
