New-look Wiggles a big hit with little ones in Tamworth

CHILDREN’S entertainment favourites The Wiggles were a big hit with the little ones when they performed at Tamworth Town Hall on Saturday.

It was the first time the new-look group – with its three new members – had visited the city.

Entertainment venues manager Peter Ross said the new performers were welcomed wholeheartedly by the group’s young fans, with some turning up with signs to say goodbye to Greg,

Murray and Jeff and hello to Emma (the new yellow Wiggle and first female Wiggle), Simon (red Wiggle) and Lachlan (purple Wiggle).

Blue Wiggle Anthony Field, who formed The Wiggles more than 21 years ago, is still with the group, along with Dorothy the Dinosaur, Captain Feathersword, Wags the Dog and Henry the Octopus.

“It was great to have them back to town,” Mr Ross said.

“I thought the new performers were great and were really embraced by the kids.”

About 700 people attended the morning show, and another 500 or so went to the second concert.
