THEY’RE all dressed up and they do have somewhere to go so yesterday’s dress rehearsal for a musical event next weekend in Tamworth was a real historical affair.
The 2013 production of the Tamworth Historical Society’s Musicale this year has a tartan theme and the sounds of Scotland will take centre stage of the show.
So will a select cast of society friends and some junior and senior students from the Judith Peters Highland dance studio who will kick up their heels, too.
The Musicale is now in its fifth year, produced again by Richard Hutt and compered by Ann Sumner, and according to organisers is the main fundraiser for the society and helps support the maintenance costs of the society’s headquarters and heritage precinct at Calala Cottage.
Musicale, with a cast that includes Catherine Hutchison, Jenny Simpson, Bill Lee, Katrina Telfer, Ross Davidson, Tara
Winsor, Rod Hobbs and Heather and Peter Bowden, will be staged in the grand ballroom at the cottage.
There are three shows next weekend, including a Saturday and Sunday matinee and a special evening performance where you can dress to the nines too.
The ballroom only holds 60 so tickets go fast and are on sale this weekend at the cottage from 1pm to 4pm.
Alternatively, phone to reserve your seats on 6765 7492.
