THE Tamworth Show has discovered many an artist over the years and the little kids from Denison St Early Learning Centre might be among the next crop.
The childcare centre entered a canvas on which each of the 20-plus preschool children had painted a picture of themselves – and it took out first prize in the junior handicraft section of the annual pavilion section last weekend.
It was the first time the centre had entered and all the children were proud of their win.
While the preschool group won, student Tasma Spalding entered her family canvas and walked away with a highly commended.
She said the entry gave the children a sense of community and showed they were part of something bigger.
The winning art work is now proudly displayed in the front entrance of the preschool.
