A night manager at a Tamworth motel was punched in the face during an attempted break-in yesterday morning.
A NIGHT manager at a Tamworth motel was punched in the face during an attempted break-in yesterday morning.
Police were called to the Quality Hotel Powerhouse on the New England Highway just after 4am on Wednesday.
Police were told the night manager had heard noises coming from the back of the foyer of the hotel and went to investigate.
The manager found a man had entered through a rear window of a bathroom and upon confronting him, the manager was punched twice in the face and fell backwards.
Police responded immediately, believing the offender was still on the premises but found no signs of the man.
Police said the offender was described as between 25 and 30 years of age, of Aboriginal appearance and wearing jeans and a yellow shirt.
