14-yo serious after Wee Waa crash involving 15-yo driver

A 15-YEAR-OLD girl was allegedly driving a car which crashed and left a 14-year-old boy with serious head injuries in Wee Waa on Sunday.

The Westpac Rescue Helicopter was called to Warah Creek Rd, 24 kilometres southwest of Wee Waa after reports of a single vehicle accident around 6pm.

Barwon Local Area Command Crime Manager Gavin Rattenbury said the teenage girl had lost control of the vehicle resulting in the accident.

The teenage boy was flown to Tamworth Base Hospital before he was transferred to the Newcastle Children's Hospital.

He is in a serious but stable condition.

Detective Inspector Rattenbury said enquiries into the accident were continuing.
