Old cars rekindle some fond memories

LOVERS of all things old and mechanical knew the place to be at the weekend was the Moonbi Showgrounds.

The Kootingal Motor Show attracted machinery, cars and tractors from across the state and beyond, for the annual event.

Kootingal Motor Club president Tony McClelland said the show was “brilliant considering what was on in Tamworth”.

The gathering attracted between 50 and 60 cars including an E-Type Jaguar, Oldsmobile, Model T Ford, an F600 Ford Truck and tractors.

Mr McClelland said the attraction of old cars and machinery was the memories that were attached to them.

“We get a lot of older people through looking for what they had or what their father had and the kids love the tractors.”

A full wrap up of the event will be in The Leader this week.
