A 42-YEAR-OLD man was arrested and charged yesterday after an 84-year-old man was robbed in the Tamworth Services Club car park.
The man was allegedly approached at about 10am by the offender who claimed he had a firearm, which police said wasn't sighted.
They said there was a struggle in which the victim’s wallet was stolen and the offender fled the scene.
The victim suffered some minor injuries in the scuffle.
Police arrested the alleged offender a short time later, charging him with armed robbery and aggravated robbery.
Police said they believed he was also responsible for an armed robbery at BWS in Brisbane St on Saturday. Most of the $410 stolen from the elderly victim was recovered.
