Earlier this week the school sent a team down to Narellan to compete in the CSSA State Hockey Carnival.
In order to cater for the number of competing schools and the time available, the carnival was played as a six-a-side competition with modified rules.
They included smaller goals, and differing points depending on where the goal was scored from.
Goals scored within the circle were worth three points, and goals from any other part of the field one point.
The teams were split into two pools with the top two teams from each pool playing off in finals.
The Carinya team consisted of Elora Croaker, Abigail Doolan, Annie Fotheringham, Dolly Powell, Madeline Powell, Antony Doolan, James Morris, Thomas Schwenke, William Turner and Isaac Woodley, and was drawn with Pacific Hills Christian School, Mount Annan Christian College, Sutherland Shire Christian School, Belmont Christian School and Southern Highlands Christian School (B).
They progressed through the pool games undefeated and averaged 26 points a game.
Equally impressively, they only had one goal scored against them in five games.
They carried that form through to the finals beating Northern Beaches Christian School 16-nil in their semi-final before triumphing against Southern Highlands Christian School (A) 12-6.
Following that Antony Doolan, William Turner and Issac Woodley were named in the boys CSSA squad, and Abigail Doolan, Dolly Powell and Madeline Powell the girls squad. Annie Fotheringham was also named as a shadow reserve.
The Doolan siblings were backing up from representing Country on the weekend in the City v Country Challenge.
The team were commended by match officials, organisers, coaches and other competitors for their skills, passion and commitment, as well as for the grace and consideration with which they played the game.
