Roads closed across region

A NUMBER of roads across Narrabri, Moree and Gunnedah shires remain closed due to flooding and recent heavy rains.

Police are advising that road closures apply to all vehicles and 4WDs, as significant amounts of water remain on roads.

Drivers who drive over flooded roads may be liable for any damage caused and fines issued by council.

Near Moree, the Carnarvon Highway is closed between Garah and Mungindi. 

Bruxner Rd is closed between Mungindi and Caloona Rd. 

Also closed are Berrigal Creek and Tyrone Rd. 

In Gunnedah Shire, the Kamilaroi Highway has been reopened with caution due to water over the road at Watermark Crossing.

Goscombe Rd and Round Hill Rd remain closed, along with Trinkey Forest Rd, Mooki River Rd and Long Point Rd.

In Narrabri Shire, Millie Rd has been closed at Waterloo Creek ad Spring Plains Rd has been closed at Thalaba Creek.

Bald Hill Rd is closed and Nowley Rd has been closed at Thalaba Creek.

The Clump Rd has been closed at Bulldog Creek and Middle Gully Rd has been closed at Gallathera Creek.

Boggy Creek Rd ,Waiwera Ln, Ten Mile Ln, Taringa Lne and River Rd are also closed, with Greylands Rd closed from Narrabri Coal Mine site.

Late showers were forecast for Narrabri and Moree yesterday but conditions are expected to clear over coming days.
