THE victim of a bizarre act that saw a couch thrown down from a mezzanine level in the Good Companions Hotel on Friday night, Brooke Dewberry, remains in hospital in a stable condition.
The 42-year-old mother was drinking with friends, including country singer and firefighter Dan Murphy, when the two-seater couch came crashing down over the first-floor railing and hit her.
She was taken to Tamworth hospital, where she was stabilised before being flown to John Hunter Hospital.
Mr Murphy, who rendered immediate first-aid, said yesterday that Ms Dewberry’s condition had deteriorated, with neck pain returning, and this had delayed earlier plans for her to travel back to Tamworth yesterday.
A spokesman from Hunter New England Health District yesterday said Ms Dewberry’s condition was stable and satisfactory.
