CALALA Inn produced a storming final quarter to snatch a final round Southgate Inn men’s competition draw with Southgate on Friday night.
The competition now moves into the finals, although there will be no games due to the U18 State Championships.
On Friday night following Calala and Southgate’s draw Tamworth Tigers were too good for the Tamworth U16s running out 14-1 victors.
Goals to Matt Sandell, Matt Kelly, Josh Lewis and Chris Rowbottom in the opening quarter had the Tigers 4-nil up at the first break.
The U16s kept them to two in the second quarter, but they slotted four again in the third quarter and then in the fourth for a 13-goal win.
Rowbottom and Norm Turner both grabbed three goals and Lewis and Mitch Salter doubles.
Jackson Crelley was the 16s lone scorer.
Earlier Calala and Southgate started the way they finished.
They were locked at 1-all at quarter-time and at the main break Grant Hopson’s second for the match was all that separated them.
Southgate then went further ahead in the third quarter through Reece Rowbottom and Josh Nugent.
But they couldn’t hold Calala out in the final quarter with Ryan Martin, Sam Crelley and Tony Fisk finding the back of the net to level things up.
