POLICE are continuing their search for a missing man, feared drowned after falling over a waterfall at Ebor Falls yesterday.
The 37-year-old man was travelling from Armidale to Kempsey with friends just before 6pm on Sunday, when they stopped for a break at Ebor Falls, about 80km east of Armidale.
Witnesses told police the man walked to the lookout and then out onto the rock ledge at the top of the falls, but then lost his balance and fell head first over the edge.
Police from New England Local Area Command and State Emergency Service crews responded to the incident.
They conducted a search of the immediate area but were unable to find the man.
The operation was suspended at nightfall and will to resume at 8am today however, heavy water flow due to the falls being in flood, as well as poor weather conditions, could hamper the search effort.
