A 27-YEAR-OLD man accused of making a bomb threat to an Inverell supermarket will reappear in court next month.
The man appeared in Inverell Local Court last week, where a charge of using a carriage service to make a hoax threat was heard.
He is accused of using a public telephone on the evening of December 17 to call triple-0 and say he planted three bombs inside the Coles supermarket.
Police immediately evacuated 30 customers and 20 staff members.
Fire and rescue personnel and paramedics also attended and an exclusion zone was set up around the building.
An hour-long search of the supermarket later revealed the call was a hoax.
Police then viewed CCTV footage and identified the 27-year-old man who allegedly made the call, as well as a 17-year-old, who was let off with a warning.
