Take You There, a new mobile travel app, has been designed to give local businesses and tourism-related operators a greater opportunity to showcase their products to local, national and international markets.

The TourismTouchscreen Network complements the daytime services offered by visitor centre staff in Tamworth visitor services supervisor, Val Schaefer, said the new mobile travel app was a welcome addition to the suite of products available to visitors wishing to source information on their smartphones and tablets.

“Increasingly more travellers are gathering their information whilst on the move and this is another great product that will assist our visitors in finding out about where to stay, places to eat and the many great activities and attractions the Tamworth region has to offer,” she said. 

Tamworth-based TourismTouchscreen project manager, Rob Harrison, said the launch of the Take You There app was an exciting development, as more than 60 per cent of travellers now had smartphones.

“Having previously worked within the Visitor Information Centre, I was aware of the value of the existing Touchscreen, particularly as many visitors would arrive after hours looking for information on where to stay, eating out or what to do. Now many can access that information through their phone or tablet,” he said.
