The McCarthy Catholic College students qualified for state after earning qualifying times at local carnivals around the region earlier in the summer.
Camilleri swam in seven events in the under 15s at state, with the 200m butterfly her best result.
“We both swam PBs,” she said.
“I made the final of the 200m fly and came fifth in the state.”
Gimbergh qualified for five events in the under 13s in Sydney.
His speciality is backstroke.
Since then he has turned 14 and will now swim in the under 14s at the Country event next weekend, while Camilleri will swim in the 15 and over section.
The pair both train with the Scully Park club and practise every day.
The aim for the Country titles is to swim some more personal best times and try to make some finals.
