MORE than 2500 movie lovers packed Tamworth’s Bicentennial Park on Saturday evening for Cinema Under the Stars.
The Disney family animation Brave was the on-screen choice and patrons took beanbags, teddybears and picnic blankets along and settled themselves in for the night.
Visitors enjoyed dance performances by the Tamworth City Dance Academy and a friendly game of football by Northern Inland Football before the free movie began at sundown.
Tamworth’s Sophie O’Neill, who took her six year old son Jack along, said it was a great night but a little cold for the middle of summer.
“It was a bit chilly but we just wrapped ourselves in blankets and enjoyed the movie,” Mrs O’Neill said.
Newcastle Permanent Chief Executive Officer Terry Millett said the twilight cinema initiative, which the bank tours across NSW, was always very popular in Tamworth.
“Tamworth really put on a good show for us this year and we had a fabulous night,” Mr Millett said.
It was the fifth time the event has come to Tamworth.
