POLICE and State Emergency Services will wait until first light tomorrow to conduct a ground search after a body was found on a deserted road near a Tenterfield national park this morning.

A crime scene has been established on a road leading to the Basket Swamp National Park, 14 kilometres north-east of Tenterfield where the body was found by park officials early on Friday.
Detectives from the New England Local Area Command are on their way as are forensic investigators and SES.
The body is believed to be in an advanced state of decomposition, and was found on Lindbrook Rd, in an isolated area surrounded by thick bushland.
The park has been closed until further notice.
