THE Jugalug Stringband will be headlining Lake Keepit Sailing Club’s Jazz by the Lake concert this year.
Set to coincide with the full moon on Saturday, February 23, the concert is always a favourite way for the district’s locals to unwind with a glass of champers and some cheese nibblies on the southern shore of Lake Keepit.
The Jugalug Stringband plays a repertoire of pre-western swing music based on the styles of early string and jug bands of the 1920s and 30s.
The gig happens right outside the sailing club’s clubhouse.
Once again, buses will leave both Gunnedah and Tamworth for the gig – and take you back later.
The Gunnedah bus costs $5 return and the Tamworth one $7 return – which is great value.
The Gunnedah bus is being put on by Hawkins Coach Lines and departs Village Homes at 4.30pm, with pick-ups at Wolseley Park (4.40pm), Kitchener Oval gates (4.50pm) and the Carroll Store (5pm).
