Free movie screening in the park

TAMWORTH residents are once again invited to attend the fifth free Cinema Under the Stars next Saturday evening.

The event, hosted by the Newcastle Permanent Building Society, will screen the latest

Disney Pixar hit, Brave.

The banker is hosting a total of 11 of the outdoor cinema events across northern NSW this year – its biggest program yet.

Newcastle Permanent chief executive officer Terry Millett said they were committed to supporting the local community.

“I’m pleased that Newcastle Permanent can host free major community events such as Cinema Under the Stars as just one way to give back to families in the North West,” Mr Millett said.

He said last year’s screening attracted almost 2500 people to Bicentennial Park.

“We’re looking forward to another fantastic night again this year,” Mr Millett said.

He described the evening as a family-friendly entertainment destination, which included a blockbuster movie, football clinics – hosted by Northern NSW Football – and dance and music acts.

Guests are encouraged to bring a picnic and watch the popular family film in the great outdoors.

Food and non-alcoholic drinks are also available for purchase at the park.

Everyone is welcome and entry is free.

The entertainment begins at 5.30pm and the movie, rated PG, screens at sundown.
