Throughout this nation in towns, cities and villages, people will come together to mark our national day and celebrate the achievements of those amongst us.
If you ever wonder why we come together to celebrate Australia Day, just think of those countries where people have nothing to celebrate, where war and civil unrest is a daily occurrence, and every day is a battle to survive.
That is why we should cherish January 26 and gather with our communities as a way of saying thank you for what we have.
I will be attending the Inverell Australia Day ceremony this morning, and then Delungra’s street parade and ceremony later in the morning.
