Riders will gather and register at Bikes and Bits on Goonoo Goonoo Rd and then head off on a ride, with the exact route to be determined by the weather – if it’s hot, they’ll head for the cooler country.
Wolverine John Clinton said the North West Harley Owners’ Group, which organises the run, had been fantastic over the years, raising close to $30,000 for the young people of the area for different causes last year.
There were about 250 motorcycles in last year’s run, with John expecting 300 this year.
“It’s been very popular and is probably the biggest ride that people can go on in the area,” John said.
“The beauty of it is that it’s geared up for families and all types of bikes – last year we even had some 67-year-old ladies on Vespas. Any money goes to a good cause, determined by the Harley Owners’ Group.”
John said the group planned the trip and made it as safe as possible.
“Even if people aren’t taking part, watching all the bikes taking off is fantastic,” he said.
“We are really looking forward to it.”
The Wolverines will play at the Longyard Hotel, with afternoon shows on Monday and Tuesday and a midnight show on Thursday.
“Thursday night is a howl-at-the-moon night,” John said.
