Mark Ierome, 34, was arrested on December 14 after an incident at a Glen Innes hotel on Grey St.
Police had responded to calls that Ierome assaulted a hotel employee after they attempted to remove him from the premises.
On arrival, one officer was assaulted by Ierome before he attempted to assault another.
Ierome continued to push and threaten the two senior constables from the New England Local Area Command.
During the scuffle, police were forced to use capsicum spray.
It had no effect and the officers used a Taser to subdue Ierome.
He was later charged with multiple offences, including common assault, two counts of assault officer in the execution of duty and harassing a police officer in the execution of duty.
At an Armidale Local Court appearance last week, he was sentenced to nine months’ imprisonment beginning December 31 last year.
