A TRUCK clipped overhead powerlines leaving more than 800 West Tamworth residents without power for an hour yesterday afternoon.
The incident occurred on the Oxley Highway near the intersection of Mayne Dr just before 1.30pm.
A truck carrying a high load was reported to have clipped the lines, causing two to fall while another lowered across the highway.
Police were called in to divert traffic while Essential Energy crews fixed the line, restoring power to a majority of users within an hour.
All affected customers had their service restored by 4pm after crews finished repairs to the network.
