Interest shown in Grain Products Australia

A NUMBER of expressions of interest have been lodged with Grain Products Australia receivership managers McGrathNichol.

Expressions of interest in the company, which entered voluntary receivership on December 19, are understood to have been received from Australian and offshore companies.

The expression of interest period closed at 5pm on Wednesday.

Receiver and McGrathNichol manager Murray Smith said the expressions were an encouraging start to the sale process.

"The sale process will now move to the next phase, where we will call for indicative, non-binding offers for all or parts of the business. Any offers we receive for the business will be assessed toward the end of the month," he said.

He said McGrathNichol hoped the offers it received would allow Grain Products Australia to continue trading parts of the business.
