A MAN charged over an accident on New Year’s Eve that led to the death of a Narrabri woman has been refused bail at Moree Bail Court yesterday.
Shortly after 10pm on New Year’s Eve, police were called following reports a woman was lying unconscious on the roadway.
Officers from Barwon Local Area Command and NSW Ambulance paramedics attended the scene, and found the woman with severe head injuries.
The 43-year-old woman was treated at Narrabri hospital before being airlifted to Sydney in a critical condition. She died on Wednesday.
About 2.50pm yesterday police arrested a man at a residence in Warialda.
The 41-year-old Narrabri man was refused bail to appear at Moree Bail Court later today where he will face the charge of dangerous driving occasioning death.
He is due to face Moree Local Court on January 7.
