Police have charged a man in relation to the death of a woman in Narrabri earlier this week.
Shortly after 10pm on New Years Eve, police were called following reports a woman was lying on the roadway unconscious.
Officers from Barwon Local Area Command and NSW Ambulance Paramedics attended the scene and found the woman with severe head injuries.
The 43-year-old woman was treated at Narrabri Hospital before being airlifted to Sydney in a critical condition. The woman was suffering from severe injuries and died on Wednesday.
About 2.50pm yesterday, police arrested a man at a residence in Warialda.
The man was conveyed to Warialda Police Station where he was formally charged with dangerous driving occasioning death.
The 41-year-old Narrabri man was refused bail to appear at Moree Bail Court later today.
