With not a manger in sight, Charlie’s parents travelled from Scone to Tamworth for the birth.
The couple already has three daughters –
four-year-old Isabella, three-year-old Georgia and 16-month-old Felicity – who met their brother for the first time yesterday afternoon.
Mrs Henderson said Charlie was due on New Year’s Day, but she went into labour on Christmas Eve and they welcomed him on Christmas Day.
“It’s funny because I was due on Christmas Day and born on New Year’s Day,” she said.
“He’s definitely the best Christmas present.”
Mrs Henderson said she would have liked to have been home with the girls on Christmas Day, but it wasn’t to be.
“The priority before I left home was to get the girls’ presents together for Christmas Day,” she said.
Mrs Henderson was transferred from Tamworth to Scone Hospital yesterday.
