Nine-year-old Skyler Dowden took home the major trophy for the year when she was named Gymnast of the Year, club coach and secretary Jan McGinnity  said.

“Skyler had an excellent year and was a Club Champion, Regional Champion, NSW Country Champion and NSW State Champion to earn the large trophy for the year.”

Julia Hannaford, the highest scoring gymnast at the NSW Country Championships was the Best and Fairest Pointscore champion followed closely by Philippa Tockuss who placed second and Josie Douglas who placed third. 

The pointscore is worked out on points allocated at training and also results at carnivals throughout the year.

Sharna Tapp was the most improved gymnast for the year whilst Sapphire Kuczer was the Level One encouragement award winner.

Club captain Whitney Johnston took home the services to the club award.

Sophie Walker was the winner of the Most Improved Prep Level award and Jasmine Alexander took the Best and Fairest trophy in the same level.

The club wishes all gymnasts and their families a great Christmas and looks forward to seeing everyone in the new year.

McGinnity said enrolments were now being taken for January holiday camps and bookings can be made by phoning her (0419 217157).

 Camps start on January 7 and also January 14 and are for girls aged five years and above and run from 9am until  noon Monday to Friday.
