The Saturday night event saw about 2000 people flock to Bicentennial Park with various performers on stage, lending their own genres of music to the Christmas celebrations.
The carols were also a time to raise money for those less fortunate, in the spirit of giving, with about $1700 raised for Compassion from bucket donations alone.
The charity was chosen because it looks after children around the world who have been orphaned and care for their physical needs, as well as encouraging them and setting them up with life skills.
Compassion also lobbies governments to increase their support of those in need inter-nationally.
Organiser Rod Chiswell said the event was terrific and the crowd was up from last year.
“The weather held off superbly and we raised some good money for charity,” he said.
“The message of God’s gift to us at Christmas came across pretty clearly, so that was very encouraging.”
Performers on the night included Christian singer Nicky Chiswell, the Tamworth Pipe Band and RSL Brass Band.
