Coach Leigh Botfield said placing in the top four in Australia was a major achievement.
“It’s a well deserved reward for the hard work and dedication Taylor has shown in both practice and as an assistant teacher for the club throughout the year,” Botfield said.
“To be selected to compete in the national finals, Taylor had to compete at the UTS campus in October against over 70 girls in her age group where she impressed the judges to progress her way through to gain a place in the top 14 final.
“Taylor then placed fourth at the national finals which is the premier event for the new association and which was APDA’s night of nights held at the Sydney Opera House.
“The club has had an amazing first year.
“Having three girls progress though to junior national semi-finals, three girls progress to senior national finals and with Taylor Johston’s fourth place it makes for a promising future for the club.”
Botfield said classes would resume the first week in February.
