If this matter isn’t resolved quickly to the satisfaction of the PM, her stakes in the popularity ratings will plummet below that of Abbott. If this happens the ALP may decide that she is a liability and move to replace her with a more winnable option to lead them to the next election.
Tony would be best advised not to pursue Julia too hard, as, at the moment, despite the polls, she is his best asset for him to gallop first across the line at next year’s federal election.
