A clean-up is underway this evening after a full-laden coal train derailed in spectacular fashion from a bridge near Boggabri this afternoon.

At 2.45pm the train was travelling across the bridge 800metres from Boggabri when 5 or 6 carriages have derailed.
The driver of the train was unhurt but the incident has stopped rail operations, including a Countrylink train due from Moree.
Barwon Local Area Command police are at the scene of the incident and rail officials are exected to arrive soon to supervise the clean up operation
CountryLink confirmed on their website that their 10.05am Sydney to Moree Xplorer service would be affected this afternoon.
The company said the rail service would be terminated at Werris Creek and replaced by a coach service to Moree.
Tomorrow the 8.25am Moree service to Sydney would be replaced by coach to Werris Creek and then it will continue on to Sydney by rail.
