The father of Sydney girl Kiesha Weippeart passed away on Wednesday morning, apparently of natural causes.
Chris Weippeart was found at about 8.30am by his mother. Police sources said he had a string of health complaints, including suffering from diabetes, and was also a known drug user.
"He went to bed last night fine, but he did not wake up this morning," a source told the Herald.
The six-year-old girl was allegedly murdered by her mother, Kristi Anne Abrahams, who is due to face a trial in June next year.
Kiesha was reported missing from her Mt Druitt home, in western Sydney, on August 1, 2010.
Her remains were discovered in Mt Druitt bushland eight months later - on what would have been Kiesha’s seventh birthday.
Abrahams and another man, whose identity is suppressed, were charged that day.
She is due to face a Supreme Court murder trial in June.
