The funding has been given to the New England Business Enterprise Centre by the Small Business Advisory Services program.
It will help provide continuing advice and assistance to small business owners.
Member for New England Tony Windsor welcomed the funding, saying small business provided a large percentage of the jobs in regional Australia, describing them as “the backbone of our communities”.
He encouraged business people to take advantage of the services offered by the centre.
“While there are many issues impacting on small business operators, they need to take time to work ‘on’ their business and not just work ‘in’ their business,” he said.
