CLICKETY Snip might not be starting in Monday’s Bath Stewart and Associates Benchmark 75 Handicap (1600m) at Tamworth but Greg Bennett’s Scone Goanna Downs stable will have a representative in the feature race on the seven-race TAB program.

Bennett is not happy with Clickety Snip after his seventh in last Tuesday’s 1500m Muswellbrook Cup to Zarbu and will save him for a Newcastle race the week after Tamworth but send Solitaire Princess around instead.
“I don’t know what was wrong with him (in the Muswellbrook Cup),” Bennett said yesterday.
“He wasn’t the Clickety Snip we know. He had a bit of an upset stomach and I wasn’t able to work him Monday or Tuesday so I’m not going to risk him at Tamworth. There is a race down at Newcastle in 10 days’ time that suits better and I’ll most likely take him there.
“He didn’t have any luck in the Muswellbrook Cup either. He got caught wide and was too far back, nothing made up ground that day.
“He got hampered at the start too, that’s why he was so far back. I was lucky I had Oh My Papa in the race though. She ran a great third, beaten a nose short half head. She ran a great race for third.”
Bennett said she would go to Rosehill on Saturday week although he has also nominated her “for Gosford as well”.
While Clickety Snip will bypass Tamworth, he does have Solitaire Princess to run.
She received the 54kg minimum yesterday after stablemate Clickety Snip had topped the weights with 59kg.
“I’ve only got the two going up to Tamworth, her and Lady In Charge,” Bennett said.
“Solitaire Princess got run off her feet at Muswellbrook on the Monday (of the Cup carnival). She’s looking for a mile so this should suit nicely. She should run good after getting the minimum and she has done well since Muswellbrook. I haven’t knocked her about either but I’ve had a few experts tell me she hasn’t come back this time and that she’s been disappointing. That’s their opinion but she’s just been looking for longer. She’s lost some of that three-year-old sprint and is more dour now.
“This will be a good test at Tamworth.”
Solitaire Princess is on the 54kg minimum with Armidale Spring Cup winner Jurassic Star (Michelle Fleming) while the likes of Kinetics (Graham Payne), Prior Baron (Rod Northam) and recent Coonabarabran Cup winner All Again (Lesley Jeffriess) top the weights.
