North West's senior side beat Western 42-20 with man of the match Marty Lewis, Zac Russ, Peter Watton, Luke Cox, Nick Colley and Nathan Stapleton leading the way.
Russ and Watton both scored two tries apiece.
12 NW players were then named in the 17-man Greater Western Region squad to play in the State CHS Trials at Myuna Bay under coach Ron Surtees (Tamworth) and manager Tony Tilburg (Blayney).
The North West Under 15 side also had a good win, beating Western 38-6 with Moree Secondary College's Merv Tighe scoring four tries.
11 of the North West side made the Greater Western squad of 17 to be coached by Mudgee's Ben Gregory with Armidale's Tim Vaughan the manager.
Meanwhile, arch rivals Coonabarabran and Farrer won't play each other this season unless they meet in the University Shield Final.
The two schoolboy sides, who have dominated North West schoolboy rugby league in recent years, were scheduled to meet in an Arrive Alive Cup match next week.
Coonabarabran was scheduled to play Farrer 2s in an Arrive Alive Cup match this week, the winner of which would have Farrer's open side the following week.
However, Coonabarabran pulled out of the Arrive Alive Cup this week because of an "unrealistic" program.
Coonabarabran coach Mick McEntyre said a number of his young side had a hectic schedule over the next week.
"The boys played a Group game last Sunday, we have six playing here today in the Greater Western Region Trials, we have a few more going to Lismore to play for Northern Division on Friday and then back up again and play in the Group 4 competition on Sunday.
"That's four games in eight days for many of them.
"To add another game was unrealistic.
"This game (Coonabarabran v Farrer 2s) could have been played last week or before."
McEntyre said the decision to pull out of the Arrive Alive Cup was also taken to concentrate on the University Shield.
"That's been our priority.
"We are disappointed about missing the Arrive Alive Cup.
"The boys were looking forward to playing Farrer but we won't do that now unless we meet them in the final of the University Shield."
