DUNGOWAN Campdraft officials are ecstatic after another huge weekend finished with almost 650 runs on the freshly ripped up Dungowan Recreation Reserve turf.

Campdraft spokeswoman, Jan Hahn, said a total of 647 runs were held over the weekend in five different drafts.
“The football field converted very nicely back to a campdraft ground,” Jan Hahn said.
“We ran the last third of the ladies draft under the big lights –– (it was) fabulous.”
The lights, hoisted into place by the local Dungowan Rugby League Football Club’s players will be used again to great effect when the huge February Campdraft is staged at Dungowan.
Dungog’s Georgia Lyon (Alana) won the ladies draft in a run off with Cherie Collier (Tina) and Sophie Thompson (Lionel). All three posted 82 points in their first draft before Lyon prevailed in the run off. Central Bucca’s Allan Sinclair (Hula Wagon) won the open draft by a point with a score of 171 from Tamworth’s Jim Lyons (Treat). Stewart Stieger was a point further back and Keith Jones (Tuxedo) another point astern in a tightly contested event.
Ogunbil’s Anthony Haig (Holly) won the maiden draft when he recorded an 86-point run. Rudd Osland (Joker) scored 85 to place second while Keith Hourigan (Prospect) and Lacey Green (Gambler) tied for third.
Rudd Osland followed his runner-up display in the maiden with a fourth in the novice. He rode Val to tie Paul Speers (Bonus) and Tom Williamson (Oaks Chime) for fourth on 170 points. Kentucky’s Peter Grills (Locket) prevailed with a 178-point effort. Weabonga’s Danny Germon (Flash Two) was a point back in second and Bob Palmer (Breezelite) third on 175.
Terry Wicks, won the encouragement draft. Wicks registered 84 points on Sian. Norm Miller (Flight) was second with 81 while Dean Burns (Pippa), Danny Halcroft (Narani), Dean Clarke (Wrangler), Chris Durkin (Why Not) and Sophie Thompson (Rosella) all tied for third.
Adam Pollock (Sargeant) won the juvenile draft with an 88-point run. Mark Stewart (Shade) was second with 87 while Allan Sullivan (Just Blue) was two points away third. Tim Oakley (Jan) and Allan Sullivan (Cougar) tied for fourth on 83.
Matt Oakley (Boomerang) was an easy winner of the junior draft. He recorded 81 points to score an 18-point win from Kelsey Searle (Daisy). Laura Clarke (Fluke) finished with 55 points for third and Tayla Maloney (Miss Ug) was fourth on 20.
