The youngsters progressed through to represent North West after zone trials at Tamworth’s Scully Pool before the first four placegetters from that travelled to Lightning Ridge for the area trials last week.

Impressing with qualifications in four events were Ben Venue’s Mitchell Densmore who will contest the freestyle, backstroke, butterfly and IM, and Brendon Parnaby in the 50m and 100m freestyle, backstroke and butterfly, Gunnedah South’s Hannah Quayle (50m and 100m freestyle, backstroke and IM), Narrabri’s Tim Buns (freestyle backstroke, butterfly and relay). And qualifying for five events were Boggabri’s Laura Tumbers (freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly and IM, Moree’s Matthew Watson (50m and 100m freestyle, breaststroke, butterfly and relay) and Werris Creek’s Josephine Laverty who will contest her 50m and 100m freestyle, backstroke, butterfly and IM.
