Police were called to a Hindmarsh St address about 6.30pm, where they allege the 19-year-old woman hit the 30-year-old man multiple times in the head with the bar.
The man was taken to Inverell hospital where he was treated for lacerations to his head and arms before being released. The woman was arrested a short time later after she fled the scene on foot.
She has been charged with occasioning actual bodily harm and armed with intent, and was granted strict conditional bail to appear before Inverell Local Court on December 6.
