Rod Nyman, named captain of the Emu Colts in Newcastle last weekend, returns to the Tamworth Gold side under the captaincy of Storm Williamson.
Nyman adds extra batting strength to the top order for its clash with Moree. NymanChr(39)s Central North Under 21 teammates Adam Jones and Justin Bielefeld also add batting depth to a top order also including David Holzigal, James Haling and talented young Norths keeper Brendon Rixon. North opening bowler Greg Smith leads the bowling attack with teammate Heath Byrne and West Leagues pacemen Ben Webb.
Emu wicketkeeper Sean Osborne will take the gloves for the Mark Sweeney-captained Tamworth Blues in its clash with Narrabri at Collins Park. The South Tamworth men are joined by outstanding allrounder Gordon Rae. He will spearhead the bowling with Dave and Peter Richards with Wally Allen and Steve Newman the backups.
The Blues boast a strong batting lineup with Rae, Newman, Allen and the Richards brothers all talented with the bat to follow openers Sweeney and Tim Kensell and top order men Peter Mead, Don Lewington and Ed Flaherty.
"ItChr(39)s a big double header for us," Tamworth chairman of selectors Rod Richards said.
"Both sides are at full strength itChr(39)s just a matter whether they get back from the Test in Sydney. Half of them are down there. Hopefully IChr(39)ll have a bus full waiting at the Imperial Hotel at 7.15am Sunday."
