Rally to protest govt bureaucracy

23 Sep, 2009 09:00 AM
PEOPLE in Sydney have now realised the deceit of the State Government, which has centralised planning and ignored local councils’ decisions.

Rural areas have had to accept this arrogance since SEPP 46 in 1995.

On Sunday, there will be a motorcade leaving the Coles carpark, Turramurra, at 11am and arriving at the Domain carpark at 11.30am, following a hired hearse.

People can join the rally at Turramurra or at the Domain carpark and, hopefully dressed in black attire, proceed to the steps of Parliament House to lay a wreath and hear notable Sydney identities explain how local government has been overruled by the state.

On the platform will be Michael Caton, of the movie The Castle, whose character in that movie kept his home against all odds of big business and bureaucracy.

If you have friends in Sydney, tell them to join in this important rally to remind the State Government that the people vote elected councillors to represent them, not state pollies and bureaucrats.
